The compost we use is a high-quality, moisture-retentive potting mix enriched with slow-release fertiliser, which acts a great foundation for growth and flowering. Because hanging baskets are often subjected to heat and air movement they tend to dry out rapidly; check them daily by lifting the base to gauge weight, watering thoroughly until it runs out the bottom, often twice a day during summer heatwaves. Boost your blooms by feeding additionally every fortnight to replenish nutrients that leach out through frequent watering. Finally, keep the display vibrant by deadheading spent flowers regularly to encourage new growth and pinching back leggy stems to maintain a lush, bushy appearance all season long.
